Hangover Cures for Your Post-Bachelorette-Party Woes:

These days, it isn’t uncommon for bachelorette parties to consist of a weekend—or even a week—of events filled with activities, meals, and (for most) lots of partying. With jam-packed itineraries, there’s little to no time that can be spent nursing a hangover from hell—and honestly, who would want to anyway? Here are our hangover cures to kick a bachelorette-party headache so you can get back in the game.

Stay Hydrated

This one is a no-brainer. Hangovers are essentially dehydration, and dehydration is often preventable. In addition to sticking to the rule of having one glass of water or other hydrating beverage in between each alcoholic drink, it’s important to head into any drinking event properly hydrated as well. Keep in mind that, as with most things, preparation is key to prevention.
Struggling the day after, and water just isn’t cutting it? Try some beverages loaded with electrolytes (without added sugars!) like natural coconut water. While other drinks are readily accessible, you might want to steer clear of commercial beverages that contain unnatural ingredients and artificial colors; they may leave you feeling even worse.

Eat Smart

We all know that drinking on an empty stomach is never a good idea, but what you have eaten is almost as important. Before you sling back a cocktail (or three), you’ll want to fill up on some complex carbs to make sure your body has enough fuel and energy to metabolize and process what you’re about to consume.
After a night of drinking, your body might be craving greasy fast food and other not-so-good-for-you bites, but opt for vitamin-rich selections instead. Potassium, which can be found in bananas and avocados, and A and B vitamins from eggs, meat, fish, and certain veggies will help replenish any deficiencies caused by dehydration.

Sweat It Out

Working out may be the last thing on your mind when you wake up feeling like death warmed over. We get it. However, you may want to force yourself out of bed and onto the elliptical for a quality sweat sesh. Aside from the fact that you desperately need some feel-good endorphins, it won’t hurt, and it could potentially help get your blood pumping and body sweating and increase your energy levels. Just make sure you’re hydrating plenty prior to exertion.

Replenish

Sending out major SOS vibes? Fear not—many major cities now offer professional help in kicking hangovers in the form of intravenous therapy. Licensed medical professionals have made curing hangovers their mission with on-call services to rehydrate and replenish. While these treatments can cost a pretty penny (upwards of $150+) they may be what you need to feel like yourself again, and in no time. If you’re in a popular bachelorette destination such as NYC and Las Vegas, they’re also super accessible.

Over-the-Counter Help

Pounding headache? There might be an easy remedy within reach. For many, all it will take is a Tylenol or aspirin to heal an aching head. Just think twice if you’re a frequent drinker, though, as these medications can also tax some major organs that might already be hurting from overconsumption. If you have any questions, be certain to speak with your doctor first.

Go Swimming

While this hasn’t been scientifically proven (yet!), many swear by the power of a dip in a pool or ocean to help alleviate the struggles. When you’re weightless in the water, your aches and pains can dissipate as the cooling temperatures help to refresh and invigorate. The saltwater of the ocean has been credited with helping to draw out toxins and purify your system too! Not able to go for a dip? Sometimes a cool shower can also do the trick.
